WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
At Dallas Afterschool, we firmly believe that a thriving Out-of-School Time (OST) workforce starts with prioritizing job quality. When organizations invest in their staff, it leads to workforce stability and enables OST professionals to deliver high-quality programs that foster positive youth outcomes.
Workforce Development Hub
Dallas Afterschool is launching a new initiative called the Workforce Development Hub. This initiative is in line with the current strategic priority of Amplify: provide professional development for educators.
The Workforce Development Hub will strengthen the workforce by providing opportunities for OST professionals to gain professional certifications
and credentials that enhance their resume of knowledge and experience working with youth.
These efforts will assist OST professionals and other youth workers in identifying potential career pathways and opportunities for advancement in
youth development and related professions.
Current Workforce Development Hub Opportunities:
- ECOST Fellowship Program
- Professional Tutor Certification
Job Quality & Workforce Practices:
The National Afterschool Association has developed a comprehensive Job Quality framework to guide organizations in creating meaningful employment opportunities that benefit both staff and the youth they serve.
